Devoured by Jason Brant [SBM Review]

Devoured

Life isn't kind to Lance York. A full-time job has eluded him for years, his wife loathes the sight of him, his bank accounts are empty, and his wealthy father-in-law revels in his failures.
After he lunges in front of a car to save a sick and disoriented woman, Lance awakens in a quarantined hospital. A devastating plague is spreading worldwide, driving those infected with it insane. Their bodies begin to mutate into horrors that have haunted mankind's nightmares for centuries.
The world descends into chaos as death holds sway in the streets.
With the help of an unlikely ally, Lance must navigate through the collapsing city of Pittsburgh, striving to escape the madness of the Apocalypse that unfolds around them.

When I first started reading the story I thought I grabbed the wrong book. Just when I was about put it down the Vladdies went on attack! It caught me off guard. Once the action started I couldn't put the story down. I did find a couple slow spots in the story, but they didn't last long. Once Lass meets up with Cass it was non stop entertainment!! I can't wait to read the next book.

Chronicles of Steele: Raven: The Complete Story by Pauline Creeden [SBM Review]

Chronicles of Steele: Raven: The Complete Story

This is the complete Steampunk Fantasy novel - all four parts of the serial in one volume! Also includes bonus features not found in the episodes ~
Human life has value.

The poor living in the gutter are as valuable as the rich living in a manor.
The scoundrel is no less valuable than the saint.
Because of this, every life a reaper takes must be redeemed.

Raven has lived by this first tenet since she was trained by her father to become a reaper. But since his death, she's been spending years redeeming the lives she's taken. By her count, she's even and it's time for that life to end. If she settles down and becomes a wife, she might just feel human again. But on the way to the life she thinks she wants, the baron of New Haven asks her to complete a task which she cannot ignore... Just when Raven decides to give up on her life as an assassin, she's pulled right back in.

This was such an amazing read. The story line grabbed my attention right from the start. The wonderful writing by Creeden transported me into her world. I just loved the main character, Raven. She is strong, caring, dutiful, and just badass. The steam punk theme added to an already amazing story. This is my first read from Creeden and I can't wait to read more of her work.

Her Dragon to Slay by Julia Mills [SBM Review]

Her Dragon to Slay

Lots of sass and the patented cock of her eyebrow have gotten Kyndel through most anything life has thrown at her. But will her moxie help when her destiny falls at her feet?
Over 100 years of honor and commitment to his ancient clan’s Guard have made Rayne the fearless leader all are proud to follow into battle. When the long foretold pull of his mate makes the calm, cool and collected Commander rush off to find the one who can complete him will he be able to save her from his enemies in time?

The chemistry between this strong-willed curvy girl and fierce warrior makes all the difference in the world where nothing is as it seems. The existence of an ancient race of honor-clad, tradition-bound protectors might be hard to accept but now the dead are coming back to life and holding a knife to her neck.
There are no coincidences. The Universe does not make mistakes. Can these fated mates defeat their greatest enemies and get their happily ever after?
Warning: This book contains several love scenes and is intended for mature readers 18+.

This was interesting story. I loved the story line and the characters. The one thing that I didn't care for was the over description. Mills descriptive writing is amazing and I didn't need the extended descriptions. The intimate scenes was just wow, so hot. The commander is something else! The action in the story was so exciting. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I can't wait to find out what happens next.

Little Girls and Their Ponies by Meg Collett

Little Girls and Their Ponies

That day on the road took everything from Alice Montgomery. Her beautiful face, her father’s keen mind, and her precious horse. One tiny moment, one horrible accident that left her trapped in a burning truck. They say she was lucky to survive. They lied.

Nearly a year later, Alice feels the pain and sadness from that day just as fresh as if it had happened yesterday. Her surviving is barely hanging on. How do you live when all you once lived for is dead and gone?

Then one day opportunity knocks on the door. It’s the chance to heal, to move on. Finally, Alice feels something besides the familiar, aching pain.

And it’s time to leave the fire behind.

The story follows a young woman who's life is devastated due to an accident. She has to find a reason to live again and with the help of those around her she just may have a chance. Collett's writing was smooth and easy to read. The only problem I had was I never found myself caring about the main character. It's easy to see why readers would love this story of struggle. I just didn't connect with the main character.

Devastated by Monica May [SBM Review]

Devastated

Living the American Dream Shelby had everything she could have dreamed of. A handsome husband two wonderful children a beautiful home and a great job. What else could she ask for?
In an instant her world is turned upside down when she innocently looks at her husband's phone. With this Devastating discovery Shelby has to decide if she will walk away from twenty years of marriage or will she find a way to fit into Grant's erotic world?
Will she walk on the wild side she never knew she had? How far will she go? If she crosses the line will she be able to live with herself when the sun comes up? Or will she let her over conservative personality end her marriage?

This was a great story! A married couple ventures into a more risque part of their sex life. Shelby becomes curious and finds ways to spice up her sex life with her husband. She's nervous and uncertain, but gets to experience it with the love of her life. I can't wait to find out were May takes us in her next book! Great erotic read.

The Album is a journey following five friends over the course of two decades. Set against the timeless backdrop of New York City, their story is a classic retelling of what it means to follow your dreams, accept reality, and have a lot of fun in the process.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I got to follow 5 young people how they navigate their lives and deal with the aftermath of the choices they make. The writing was wonderful and made me remember my own past and choices that I made. I don't usually read contemporary stories, but I'm so glad I picked this one up.
