The Black House by Peter May

The Black House

When a brutal murder on the Isle of Lewis bears the hallmarks of a similar slaying in Edinburgh, police detective Fin Macleod is dispatched north to investigate. But since he himself was raised on Lewis, the investigation also represents a journey home and into his past.

I chose this book because of the mystery, but this book was more than just a mystery. It included much of the setting which I enjoyed. The detective has to go back home and solve a crime. The murder mystery kept my attention and the struggle of the main character was interesting. The writing was so great and I would love to read more from May.
